FAQ

Question: I've heard you don't need a permit "after hours". Is that true?
Answer: There are no "after hours". Classes are held evenings and Saturdays, and hall residents are on campus 24 hours a day. Everyone planning to park on campus at any time is required to register his or her vehicle and purchase a permit

Question: Is there a grace period at the beginning of each semester before tickets are written?
Answer: Vehicles parked in All-Zone Perimeter Lots will not receive "No Permit" citations during the first week of the Fall and Spring semesters.

Question: I'm going to live in a residence hall. Am I guaranteed a parking space right next to my residence hall?
Answer: No. There may be times when the closest parking space is located at a perimeter lot.

Question: Why aren't there more perimeter lots closer to the central campus?
Answer: Space and geography limits the amount of parking on central campus and the university has designated this limited resource for on-campus residents and faculty/staff use. Commuters should park in the Perimeter lots and use the Texas State Tram system to access central campus.
