Faculty members who have been assigned a faculty job code (as reported on their Position Change Request [PCR]) are eligible for RED Restricted parking permits, regardless of their % FTE appointment.


Staff persons working at least 50% FTE as indicated on their PCR are eligible for RED Restricted parking permits. Staff employed less than 50% FTE are eligible for a Purple Perimeter parking permit.

Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Research Assistants are eligible only for student parking permits, not RED Restricted parking permits. Visit the Student Parking page for more information.
Students paid from student wage accounts are eligible only for student parking permits, not RED Restricted parking permits. Students, whether currently enrolled or not, are eligible only for student parking permits.

Vehicles displaying a RED Restricted permit can park in zones designated for RED, or GREEN permits, or any All-Zone lots.

Adjunct faculty may qualify for a RED Restricted permit. Parking Services can help determine the appropriate permit for an adjunct faculty member. Graduate Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants are not eligible for RED Restricted Parking permits.

RED Restricted permits cost $207 per year. Permits can be purchased at Parking Services, or by mail. Vehicle registration cards and payment must accompany all permit requests. Permits will be mailed to the faculty member's home address or the Texas State department as listed on the registration card. RED Restricted permits are transferable and faculty may purchase only one permit. Registration and payment can also be made on-line at http://catsweb.txstate.edu/app/add_permit
