Texas State University Parking Services Privacy Statement

Introduction

Parking Services is committed to protecting your privacy. We have established this Privacy Policy and are providing it to you so that you can understand the manner in which we collect and use your information and the efforts we use to protect it. Please note that this policy is for the Parking Services Web site only and does not apply to other 3rd party web sites linked to from our web site. Parking Services recognizes the need for consumers to control the use and management of personal information.
When ordering a permit, registering a vehicle, paying or appealing a citation, or other University parking services you may be asked to enter your:

  • First and Last Name
  • Email Address
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone Number
  • Student ID number
  • License Plate Number
  • Vehicle Information, including Make, Model, and Year

You may be required to submit credit card information under these circumstances:

  • Purchasing parking for University-sponsored events
  • Purchasing a Parking Permit
  • Paying or Appealing a Citation

If you are visiting our site to browse or find information about Parking Services, you do not need to provide any personal information

Personal Information Use

Parking Services uses personal information provided by you so that we can service your account. We will not sell or trade your information to unrelated third parties. When you order a permit or pay a citation you will receive an email confirmation from our system. If you supply us with your postal/mailing address, you will only receive the information for which you provided us your address.

Information Control

All personal information changes are made in banner (Catsweb). Vehicle information changes are made in our office.

Confidentiality and Security

Parking Services takes reasonable steps to ensure that your information is protected. On our website we use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting your personal information. Our website is hosted in a data center which makes use of multiple levels of redundant firewalls and database encryption to protect information. Internally, we limit access to your information to those employees or agents who we believe have reasonable need to use the information to provide products or services to you, or to perform their jobs.

We will provide a way to correct, update, or remove personal data provided to us by users. This can usually be done over the phone or in person at our office.
